The square also has Christmas lights just like in the movie
Tale
Alana Higman, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and her family are competing to win the team’s Fan of the Year competition, in a process judged by Director of Fan Engagement Derrick. Enjoy happy endings with this year’s lineup of romantic holiday-themed movies that you can watch in the comfort of your own home, the film was filmed in historic Independence Square, Missouri, which actually looks like this all year round. The locations that house Higman’s family store and Norma and Nick’s BBQ Restaurant are actually family stores too.
Also, I’m not a Chiefs fan
There was way too much hype surrounding this movie, including “live” during every commercial break in the movie preceding this one. To me, they are the current Evil Empire of the NFL. (They actually have a lot of decent actors, and I use the word “bad” as an exaggeration.) But then again, I’m struggling with an obsession with watching every Christmas movie premiere on at least 5 channels.
I liked this movie
It was different enough from the usual stuff, and maybe there was snow, but there were no snowball fights or many of the other Christmas movie list items. Tyler Hines and Hunter King have really good chemistry, almost what I sometimes call hot. The story hooked me first with the mission to win the fan contest and then with the waiting for the result of the obstacle course at the end.
Hines was her usual level-headed but easygoing self
I found the acting to be a bit of a mixed bag. King’s character had endearing qualities, but also a certain neuroticism, especially in her total obsession with superstition. That being said, I had mixed feelings about the ending, especially after the story had built up.
